“She’s Not My Type”

Last week journalist E. Jean Carroll accused Donald Trump of rape, and in his defense, he stated, “She’s not my type.” This is only one of many such accusations towards the President, and with every exposure he has defended himself with similar responses. If an innocent man was unrightfully accused of this kind of crime he would likely say, “what she is accusing me of is out of my personal character.” Donald Trump can make no such defense, because his character is lewd at best. Instead, in this case he states that she is not beautiful enough to be raped by him, implicitly arguing that he would rape someone if she was his type. To the President, I would like to say, misogynistic statements are not great defenses for accusations of misogyny, and I want everyone to know that I believe the scores of women who have accused him of misconduct.
